Meet Our Founder

Raised in Detroit and the child of two educators, TJ has always marched to the beat of his own drum. After graduating from Renaissance High School, he attended Eastern Michigan University before his family relocated to Texas. Not one to be left behind, TJ made the decision to join them on this new adventure. His time in Texas took him through Dallas, Tyler, and Austin — each city adding its own color and character to his life.

During this chapter, TJ grew from an entry-level customer service technician into a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in software integration, training, and talent development. He took pride not only in climbing the ladder himself, but in helping others ascend to heights they once only imagined. As the years passed, the pride and fulfillment of professional growth began to edge out his true passion: art.

Late nights once spent writing poetry became nights drafting performance reviews and building training programs. Weeknights that used to be filled with spontaneous photo walks were replaced by job descriptions and resume screenings.

In 2022, TJ made the decision to move back home to Detroit — a decision that would prove to be the most meaningful of his adult life. From the moment he returned, something shifted. He felt more alive, more aligned, and more himself than he had in years.

That homecoming sparked a reintroduction. The professional had to learn to work alongside the artist — not drown him out. That internal partnership, combined with the beauty, grit, and creative pulse of Detroit, gave birth to Davenport Creative Studios.

DCS is the result of that journey. A space where vision meets execution, and where every moment is treated like it matters — because it does.
